Olsen Middle School is one of the leaders in safety & emergency preparedness. The Special Investigative Unit (SIU) of Broward Schools gave Olsen Middle a score of 100% on their schoolwide safety plan. All members of the staff at Olsen Middle have been trained for emergency preparedness and have practiced an emergency procedure each year for the last three years. In conjunction with the Broward Sheriff's Office and the Dania Beach Fire Department, Olsen Middle has practiced two schoolwide evacuations and one emergency lockdown. On all occassions, the community, parents, educators, students and local law enforcement overwhelmingly praised Olsen Middle for their efforts in implementing a schoolwide safety and emergency preparedness plan.

We value your child's safety! For this reason we conduct emergency drills including fire drills each month. We believe it is better to be overly protective than to wait for something to happen and then wonder what to do.
